Sin Eater

Sin Eater

Oh sin eater, come today
come to where my loved one lay
he was easily led astray
help him cast these stains away.

Bread and wine upon the breast
of my darling laid to rest
half a shilling paid to thee
eat this meal and set him free.

Ameliorate this funeral feast
take on the sins of my deceased
allowing them to be released
so that my love may rest in peace.

Nine Lives

bekkiesbooboy

Nine Lives

watching the sunset
fog sneaks in over the bay
on tiny cat feet

under small bushes
the cat becomes a panther
silently stalking prey

ignored by a cat
nothing makes one feel
more rejected

contented purring
a peaceful heart
a happy cat

words left unspoken
leaves things broken
cat got your tongue?

coming in late
look what the cat dragged in
don’t blame the cat

stroking a cat
the best relaxation
a furry zen master

a cat has nine lives
we only go around once
make it count

a beloved cat
is man’s best friend
the dog would argue

LOL!

LOL!

LOL is hard to quit
I use it too much I admit
of all the words I type each day
most comments seem to end this way.

There might be other words to use
yet LOL is what I choose
this acronym just seems to fit
oh LOL, I’m stuck with it.

Egg Scuse Me

Egg Scuse Me

To be a kid on Easter Sunday
boiling eggs to pile high
for children such a fun day
decorating eggs with dye.

Putting on your Easter finest
to see neighbors at the church
all of us are at our kindest-
until the Easter egg search.

Our egg hunt is quite serious
the largest one around
it makes adults delirious
the children stand their ground.

Such fun to have on Easter
this year we might have won
I fell down on my keister
and got myself outdone.

Happy Easter! I found an old poem I wrote in 2015 for Easter and wanted to share it with you. The image is a vintage postcard.

Seven Haiku

image002

Seven Haiku

words fly
once spoken
can’t be taken back

terrible news
terrorist attack in Belgium
emotions fly

people staring
why are they looking at me?
my fly is open!

biking against the wind
crows fly, passing me by
makes it look easy

spring is here again
where does the time go?
the seasons fly by

the spider and the fly
the silky web invisible
the spider is so sly

I am so fly
seven haiku today
I could write more

Silver Haired Crusader

Silver Haired Crusader

The world was sad
with troubles galore
who will save the day
and stop the horror?

The law’s corrupt
the gun law killed
budget is slashed
who fits the bill?

She fears no one
she’s tough as nails
she gets jobs done
she’ll never fail.

Silver Haired Crusader
stay out of her way
fights for your rights
she will save the day.

Dewdrops

Dewdrops

Daybreak dawns
discovered drenched in dewdrops
delicate droplets dripping, dazzling,
dancing daintily
drinking deeply of delicious delights
devouring drought.
