Nobody Can Wannabe As Much As Me

Nobody Can Wannabe As Much As Me

Nobody can wannabe as much as me
I only use words to be famous you see.
Why does everyone else have to write so well,
I’m better than them all-can’t you tell?

Nobody can wannabe as much as me
I meet bad news about other writer’s with glee
if they need my help I steer them the wrong way
when they fail I have a very happy day.

Nobody can wannabe as much as me
every day I pluck wounds from the jealousy tree
I read and I write and the talent is there
but in the end, my work sits and nobody cares.

Nobody can wannabe as much as me
I want to sell my words and charge a big fee
I want my book to stay at number one
so that I can have it all and they have none.

Nobody can wannabe as much as me
if you get in my way I rue your destiny
ignore my work but you can’t win
for I will always undertake the bigger sin.

  1. Uncomfortably close to the truth – but luckily most of us know how to control those impulses. However, I’ve seen or heard some who really talked like that in all earnesty, without the humour… Hmmmm…. You made me laugh but also wriggle a little in discomfort!

  2. Favorite lines:
“Nobody can wannabe as much as me
every day I pluck wounds from the jealousy tree”
The refrain works really well here. My guess is we are all wannabes about something! 🙂
Yes — and your animation is amazing! How did you do that???
Your Auden quotation on the sidebar is an excellent one. When I apply it to your poem, is see a kernal of truth in your words here for me…as well as the humor. As in, I’ve sumitted poetry to journals and online journals — get the “thanks but no thanks” notice back, then get the published journal, read it and think….sheesh, how did that get in there and my XXXX didn’t? I’ve decided that really, I write for me. So I keep writing — occasionally submit — and enjoy the wonderful comaraderie of dVerse and some folks that I follow and trade comments with. So there you go!
    Wannabe me? 🙂

    1. I’m so happy you like it what a nice comment! I have submitted work and felt the same way. Lol! How did I do the animation? If you ever played with a webcam they have special effects that add this stuff to your face. I took photos of each and used software to put the 2 frames together. I was very pleased with the animation so glad you like it! It’s a hobby of mine I’ve been doing it for a long time, putting them with my poetry seemed a great idea. I’ll have to do an e-book sometime with my poems and animations. Thanks so much Lillian!
