A Different View

The rain falls on my canopy
a pitter-patter so serene
time gets lost inside these woods
where everything is mossy green.

Once the storm has taken hold
illuminating the darkening sky
animals escape to their cozy dens
they run for cover, but not I.

I drink deeply of this gift
rainy weather won’t phase me
I patiently wait for the sun’s return
to grow into a bigger tree.

    1. We are related because we are both nature freaks. Lol! I plan on publishing a book of my nature poems someday I have written a lot of them.

Nice to meet you, Elizabeth and I hope you’re feeling better.

  1. Reading this poem, am filled, with a sense of inner peace and self-acceptance, which I really love, Bekki. Something, I’m striving for myself, especially, as I place my abusive past, in the past, with my biological family. Part of this meaning, breaking off all contact with them, as they have hurt me, in all ways, except sexually, with numerous attempts on my life, from my younger brother. Thank you, for sharing this gorgeous poem.

    1. You are very welcome, Therisa! I know how it feels having family members against you. I’m so sorry you do too. I’m so happy this could give you some peace while reading it. Big hug!
