Reasons
There are reasons for our seasons
as we watch for yearly clues
in the summer we have flowers
multicolored meadows viewed.
Then the trees turn glorious colors
dying leaves fall to the ground
before the burning bonfires end
winter’s come without a sound.
When the Crocuses start blooming
and I heed the robin’s call
spring will bring her wondrous renewal.
Good reasons for us all.

I wanted to write a poem about the seasons while naming them within the poem. There were a few versions of this before I finally got the words the way I wanted them and I’m happy with the way it turned out.
A past musing shared with my friends at Poets United.
Good reasons indeed 🙂

I too like to contemplate the cycle of the seasons: everything happening in the right way at the right time. (Love the photo you used.)

Love your ‘reasons’. This was a delight to read on a rather gloomy, overcast Sunday. Thanks for this!

It was the same here on Sunday! Today’s the first day of spring and it’s terrible outside. Lol! Thanks, Wendy!

This is a lovely version–ending with spring, and spring being just a day away. A fantastic reason for us (and for the poem). 🙂

A lovely rhythm and rhyme to this poem. Did you take that amazing photo?

No, I found it when I did a Google image search. That’s where I find most of my images because they’re meant to share. Sometimes it even gives the info on the artist but not always.
