Capricious Poet Inside

There’s a fire under me
that everyone can see
my confidence within
the way they’d like to be.

I’m being very frank
my words fill in the blanks
I’m ready for what comes
with my hard work to thank.

I penned a poem today
with words I’ll always play
the muse in me is strong
I make my own damn way.

I was brought into this world wanting to describe it and poetry chose me. I live to create, read and ride my bicycle. Music keeps me grounded. If you like my work it makes it all worthwhile. I live in California, the Bay Area and my friends call me Bekkie.

I’m a health nut who rides my bicycle every other day, gets 7 1/2 hours of sleep every night and watches what I eat. I haven’t always been this way, I finally got smart and tired of feeling bad in 2015. When I’m healthy I don’t have time for bad feelings or depression. I’m in my early 60’s and have never felt better. Good health is just a matter of doing what it takes and is so worth it.

I enjoy writing with various groups of poets weekly. If you want to join us I included a section on my sidebar, Groups I Write With, and the information you need to come and write with us. All the groups are different, have various types of prompts, lessons on forms, information on other poets, there are even open links where you can share what you like, all while getting more traffic to your poetry. Drop in when you feel the urge to write.

    1. Thank you, Jilly! That is a nice bike. Thanks for checking out BWB I’m working on the 3rd installment to my lifestyle change. Some people didn’t like that I called them lazy (for being fat) but you know I didn’t mean it that way. Enjoy your rides! Hugs!

    1. You will like Bike With Bekkie then. If you can ride a bicycle a few times a week you be amazed at how good it makes us look and feel. That, and eating healthy is all we need to be healthy and enjoy it. Great to meet you! Any questions I’d be glad to help!

      1. If only I had a bike! I am not even kidding either! It is something I want to get and have said I will buy! Maybe it’s time to invest! I can’t run, even though I’ve tried but maybe biking is the way to go!

I will pop over to yours and check out your post now!

        1. Biking is the best exercise for people of any age. I am disabled (very bad knees) but can bike just fine so it keeps me in shape. It’s even helped my knees get better and I can walk farther and longer now. Have a great weekend it’s almost here. I’ll be out biking.

    1. I love Half Moon Bay! It is really growing all over this area and what used to be sleepy towns are now crowded with cars/people trying to get to work. Sad to see but I guess that’s life. Things must progress and grow.
