There’s a treat that egg-sists
that brings such happiness
egg-actly what kind
(cause I can read your mind.)
So please let me egg-plain
it’s egg-cellent for your brain
with tryptophan within
and protein for good skin
an egg will make you smile
egg-streamly worthwhile.

I believe breakfast is the most important meal of the day for our bodies and keeps us going all morning. Eggs got a bad rap in the past but we now know that eggs should be a healthy part of our daily diets.

Writing a Quadrille this week for the prompt egg with dVerse~Poets Pub. The words with egg in them are counted as one word.

Easter Wishes

Easter Wishes

I have a special wish for you
dressed in your Easter finest
I hope for you good things to come
and blessings of the kindest.

The eggs are hiding in the grass
our baskets by our side,
“Oh look, I’ve found an Easter egg!”
I heard you cry with pride.

Now baskets full let’st’s celebrate
with candy, eggs and cheer
enjoy your Easter Sunday
hold your friends and family dear.

This picture was taken of my brother and me on Easter of 1963 in our living room in Michigan City, Indiana before church. That hair! Look at those legs I was a real Tomboy growing up.

My mom always got us new clothes for church on Easter and often made them herself. She made both of our outfits that year I loved that dress and apron. Good memories here!

Happy Easter Sunday to all of my fellow poets at Poets United! This isn’t linked to Imaginary Garden Of Real Toads or dVerse~Poets Pub but this is for all of my friends I write with.

Egg Scuse Me

Egg Scuse Me

To be a kid on Easter Sunday
boiling eggs to pile high
for children such a fun day
decorating eggs with dye.

Putting on your Easter finest
to see neighbors at the church
all of us are at our kindest-
until the Easter egg search.

Our egg hunt is quite serious
the largest one around
it makes adults delirious
the children stand their ground.

Such fun to have on Easter
this year we might have won
I fell down on my keister
and got myself outdone.

Happy Easter! I found an old poem I wrote in 2015 for Easter and wanted to share it with you. The image is a vintage postcard.
