Gone
In the woods is where you’ll find me
as far away as I can stay
when I’ll be back I cannot say
I need some time to just be free
a better, kinder, gentler me
amongst the trees, I will transcend
mother nature my only friend
never again to join the fray
shunning the world is now my way.
Gone, until the very end.

There is something about the woods that always reconnects me with myself. It clears the mind and recenters my soul!

Today I’m planning on going down to the reservoir to get some much-needed tree exposure for myself. Thank you Gayle!

Ah, I do understand the desire to ‘get away from it all’ sometime! And what more beautiful and recuperative place to escape to than into nature!

Some people become hermits and don’t need anything else. I can understand that. Thanks Mary!

Lovely execution of the form..it’s always spiritually healing to commune with nature and it was never said any better than you’ve done here.

Thank you for the wonderful comment about my poem. Most people wouldn’t want to stay away forever but a few would and do I’ve read.
